The Newest Member of The Woodard Family!!

We adopted a precious dog from Operation Kindness  2 weeks ago.   First of all, this place is AMAZING.  It is like a retreat for dogs and cats, very un-shelter like.  We looked at several dogs when we got there and none seemed to really get along with the girls as well as we or the shelter staff hoped.  We went back inside and saw a dog that had just arrived.  We played with her for a bit and she seemed to love the girls, so we took the chance and brought her home.

I know God had a big hand in this adoption.  She is the sweetest dog.  She acts like a mommy to the girls- always around them and in the middle of what they are doing.  She is crate trained, house trained and goes potty in the bushes (yay!).  We have wondered what in the world was she doing in a shelter?  Well, Lulu's one flaw is running.  She is FAST with a double capital F.  If she gets out of the house, she is gone.  She escaped the backyard a few nights ago and Scott chased her for 30 min around our neighborhood and she was almost hit by a car.  This morning, 10 minutes before heading to church, she got out of the front door.  I chased her for 3 blocks, down several driveways, an alley- all with bare feet and my church clothes.  I vowed today that if this happens again, she is gone!!

We love her so much and she is such a perfect addition to the family- as long as she doesn't get out!
